Back to the Hagia Sophia with you

“It sounded wonderful but the setup was byzantine,” Ms. Kirschner said, emphasizing that this was a charitable description of the problems she had getting it to work. A few months passed and, feeling guilty for not using something given to her as a gift, she went to the company’s Web site for further instruction.

I wonder where the New York Times picks up people like this. Byzantine: devious and surreptitious manner of operation, so says the dictio. Not using the gadgets you buy is your fault hon. I don’t understand the point to this entire article. You know how I am and the New York Times. I’m always thinking they’re trying to prove a point. The damned article was in no way entertaining, either. Hmmm.

Seems it’s an insult to actually conclude something in the lines of “stuff doesn’t buy happiness,” but New York Times readers are smart, right? They wouldn’t want to be insulting their readers now, do they?

I, on the other hand, have used just about every gadget I’ve bought, or received. Therefore, I am neither entertaining nor a poster-boy for anti-consumerism.
