Now behold the awful price of treason!
October 15, 2003
I tend to reserve the charge to people who do this. Using it as a blanket for all liberals a la Coulter cheapens the term. And yes, because one of them is a naturalized citizen, I think treason would be an apt charge.

For the son, treason would be an apt charge (especially considering the timing). Unfortunately, we cannot charge a non-citizen, legal or not, with treason. But I suspect he can be charged on a number of other counts.
Sigh… unfortunately, I also suspect the son will be charged on the same counts and not with treason (check the US Constitution — treason requires a very high level of proof).
True that. In a lot of cases the aiding and abetting of an enemy’s actions during wartime have to be direct, which is actually a good thing, considering how Leaps Of Logic can be done to charge anyone with anything (see: Easterbrook), a high standard for treason is good.
Besides, there can be so many more charges to be filed.
