Pejman writes of his visit to Kevin Drum’s home, as one of a few invitees for dinner. His account reminds me of all those “grownup guests for dinner” scenes in drama shows and movies:

I’m not sure what Kevin got out of it–we evidently forced him to miss Survivor, and both his and Mark Kleiman’s efforts to shame me out of my conservative/libertarian instincts failed spectacularly–but the rest of us enjoyed the convivial atmosphere, interesting conversation, and the pasta and wine.

Only there was political discussion. Bejus. Pej, I need to ask you: Just how political was the talk? I don’t want to assume any more than I have to.

If you ask me I’d rather leave politics and issues at the door should I have blogger-guests. Plenty of booze, good, hearty food, and if they’re up to it I might even turn it into a fetish party.

Only, guys and girls in furry suits can stay home, please. Not that fetish.
