On the Iran earthquake
December 26, 2003
Michael Demmons, Doc J, and Professor T have concurring opinions about the earthquake in Iran that has killed at least fifteen thousand people. It is more than understood that modernization holds the key to ensuring that a region that regularly has earthquakes would be a relatively safe place to live.
What I would like to know, and pardon my waxing cynical over this — and I do mourn for the dead in their country as I would had it happened here — is how long before the mullahs use this as an opportunity to issue such lunatic statements attributing the quake to Allah, as a sign of his displeasure that the Iranians have not done enough to ensure our destruction?

I hope they do something that stupid. Their people are under no illusions about them. They just haven’t become angry enough yet.
Faster please…
Or they’ll blame it on some new jewish earthquake ray.
Yes I agree
I doubt if they will do that. Everybody does that to some extent after such an unfortunate event. Even I did that when the Earthquake of 2001 in Gujarat hit and I was out of it. I see it was one way to releasing your distress, I know its not enough though.
I don’t know why I’m typing this. O_o
They probably would blame it on Allah, but I dought that they would think of it as a sign to fight us again.
