Doc J came across a new comment to an old entry: You don’t think Bush-Cheney are Dictators? They were not ‘elected’. They ‘bought their jobs because they have more money that the Democrats.’ They are destroying America for profit and greed… There’s more. Much more of this talk that seems so 2003.
I wonder, however, how a casual Google™ sees these blogs of ours. For the longest time I was on the top ten Google™ results for “Iran Earthquake.” A few days ago someone came forward asking for help: I need info on the last 10 years of civil issues concerning race, sex, religion, and age. I need it by friday. Thank you! Gotta love it, really.

Yep. Steven Taylor had a post months ago with the title “I am the Sultan of Brunei,” which was an ironic takeoff on somethinganother that the post was about. He gets money requests all the time now in the comments section.
Similarly, I had a post about Slate’s Dear Prudie feature and have gotten requests from the lovelorn for assistance. Ditto, a post about Britney Spears photo has netted demands to see me naked.
Doc J, I had to go see the entry for myself. That’s fucking rich. I’m torn between which is richer: requests for money, or requests to see you “nacked”.
One of the curses of blogs is that, since they range over a large subject-space within a single web page, you get some of the strangest search engine hits. My three recent favorites:
