Neologism alert
January 29, 2004
It’s fair enough that I occasionally clarify a few terms I coin for my own usage on my blog. Today I have three, just because I’m in a prolific mood.
- RINO-Rider
- Someone who uses the term RINO heavily to accuse their chosen leaders of political and ideological impurity. The accusation is directed towards a Republican, therefore, Republican In Name Only.
- DINO-Rider
- Someone who uses the term DINO heavily to accuse their chosen leaders of political and ideological impurity. The accusation is directed towards a Democrat, therefore, Democrat In Name Online.
- Government’s Schwartz
- Pulled from the movie, Spaceballs, the Schwartz of a particular government or administration is the sum total, the gestalt, of his spending policies, and the social effects resulting from them.
Note: most riders on either side are usually ideologues on the same side of the political fence as those they are calling out, although nothing is stopping a Democrat from calling Bush a RINO.
