It seems to me that this world we live in has become the breeding ground for total relativism. Bravo; I have never been a big fan of groupthink. The game of relativism — moral and intellectual — is a simple game of numbers, nothing more.
The thugs of Fallujah are Michael Moore’s minutemen (as noted by Lee). I suppose people who share his mindset would crown as heroes the two youngsters in the Army who have fled to Canada to do what they believe is right (whether they are right is another question; I think they are insufferable lowlifes that the Army does not need, though an example needs to be made of them). However in this game of numbers, they’ll find less people agreeing with them and their cause than the rest of us. This, in contrast with Pat Tillman’s death in the battlefield the other day. I think he’s a hero. Eloquence is unnecessary; verbosity, excessive in my tribute. Someone out there (as noted by Sean Hackbarth) would think I’m an idiot, along with everyone else who thinks of him as a hero; the best weapon against such freaks is simple publicity. Sometimes idiocy reveals itself with no further need for elaboration.
As for Pat Tillman, and for everyone who have given their lives in securing our way of life, I say only “thanks,” and congratulations, because in this relativistic world we live in, they have won the numbers game as well.
