Radley Balko sums up the dire situation of the tobacco companies in America today:
We have a legal industry in America that’s been reduced to producing and paying for ads and commercials urging consumers not to use its product, and that must beg movie and television producers not to accidentally endorse its brand.
Half of me wants to have tobacco products declared illegal just so that this absurdity in the market forces affecting the product would just stop. The other half wants me to light up a cigarette right about now.
