This story has been linked to a lot today but I’m posting it anyway as a matter of record. On the 5th of July, 2004, a group of people “in Iraq” (as opposed to verified notice that such men were “Iraqis”) have taken the next best alternative in the presence of a fledgling, if but impotent in the interim, police force: vigilantism.

For some it may seem like a brutal and “warlike” reaction that echoes that of the war on terror. For me it makes perfect sense: Zarqawi has declared war on the apostate Moslems of Iraq (apostate in his eyes, at the very least) and will soon reap what he sows. This, my friends, is primordial nation-building unfolding right before our eyes.
