Mastering the art of timing
August 3, 2004
Jeff Quinton quotes an article that focuses on the whinging of the head of the Islamic Human Rights Commission (in Britain, supposedly) over the timing of arrests of terror suspects in England, following the rasied terror alert levels in the USA. When exactly is a good time to catch a terrorist, anyway? When no one can politically benefit, from it, right? Well not exactly.
Ultimately, as Jeff helped me realize, it’s a matter of who’s doing the activity that arouses the suspicious timing, more than the timing itself. Now if Jimmy Carter got attacked by a killer rabbit two days after the coming RNC, I’m sure we can hear some moonbat Republicans (and yes, they do exist!) complain about the suspicious timing with which Carter, in a final Hail Mary, diverted the attention back to the Democrats.
