Just campaign for economic isolationism already!

I’ll have to echo John Cole on this one. If the likes of Ezra Klein are jumping at the supposed humiliation that BushCo’s use of campaign material made in countries like Honduras and Haiti, would it not be also prudent to note that it saves the Bush campaign money? If this sort of nitpicking would be the meat and potatoes of any anti-Bushie, it is easily countered by the fact that should American manufacturers actually transfer their labor back home, we’ll see prices skyrocket and businesses crumble. But then again I don’t think it’s Ezra’s (and that of any other economic isolationist’s) obligation to actually present the whole picture, especially in such partisan times such as these, and with such high stakes as getting Bush out of office. Nope, nope.

I can hardly imagine how much that $40 track jacket from American Eagle would be if it weren’t made outside the USA… Then again I wouldn’t have to worry much now, won’t I?
