Beauty only the eye can see
November 5, 2004
It’s very windy tonight. I can hear the shrubbery beating against the siding of the house. There are no clouds in the sky, and the glow of the cities does not detract from the view . Orion is directly overhead; he is accomapanied by many other stars I cannot name. It isn’t as cold as it was this time last year, and my neck is feeling a bit strained from looking up far too long. Maybe that’s the way things should be: otherwise, I’d be spending too much time looking up at the clear night sky. It is a truly holy sight, one that fills me with both tranquility and awe.
No camera could capture the beauty of these magic moments. Sometimes words are all we have to share.
