The trees, they grow so high
April 28, 2006
So much has happened in the past three weeks, and while there is little room on here, nor time for me, to write the details, my new occupation has proven to be a godsend.
There is no denying the value of good timing in making life decisions, and while there can only be so much control that we have over the circumstances around us, hindsight always provides the sense of serendipity that surrounds lucky choices that we have made.
I am making it in my new job. I am surrounded by co-workers who provide a great environment to work in, who are easy to work with, and make coming to work less of a chore and more of something to look forward to. I had that in my old job, but it expired quickly in the tangled webs of backtalk that only those terminally bored with their occupations tend to resort to.
As Spring reaches its peak my tree-planting season is starting in earnest. I have gathered seeds from a tree that I like, and will be planting them in long plastic tubes in the days to come. I hope this year they will grow to be strong seedlings, maybe a foot and a half tall, before they start losing their leaves for the winter.
