Damn you, Verizon Wireless

I upgraded my phone to the Samsung SCH-u740. I’ve had it for a few days and I have slowly but surely grown familiar with the standard VZW software.
Coming from my Treo 650, that was a leap all its own. I chose the phone because I am a very heavy texter, and I was slowly getting the knack of using the keys, whose tactile response was definitely different from what I was used to.
I actually started to like texting on this phone. It’s easier on my pocket when I am at work, for one.
Then tonight, when I had 40 messages, I got a warning telling me that my messages memory is 80% full.
Damn you, VZW for providing a phone for heavy texters and not keeping in mind that maybe, just maybe, we like to keep our messages on hand. We have hearts too, and some messages have sentimental value.
I’m switching back to the Treo by Sunday, once I’ve bragged to everyone and their mother that I have this phone.
I chuckled when I read this, because I know how you feel. I didn’t realize that 40 messages in my inbox took so much space. Ridiculous!
What was wrong with your Treo?

Nothing is wrong with my Treo, other than the fact that I have mishandled that headset jack so much that it’s pretty much stripped. I can’t use it as an MP3 player, nor can I use a wired headset. You know what I’ll do with the money? I’ll go ahead and buy me another 650 on eBay before they’re all gone.
And I’m not a Twitter kind of guy.
My sister (a heavy texter and big talker–she’s the socialite of the family) actually has the Samsung, and so far so good she says. She’d previously used the Razr but didn’t like it.
Wheee! I just realized I’m eligible to upgrade my Treo 600 to the Samsung SCH-u740. Definitely need to get on that – I hate the camera on the 600 and want something new and shiny to show off. Since I’m ruthless about deleting txt messages, this is going to be a great trade for me. Thanks for the reminder!
@ VK: The u-740 probably has the best show-off value EVAR. And really it’s something that will fit your needs more than it did try to mine. Hope you like it!
