More on the House revolt going on in the Hill. I was hoping against hope that they would camp over the weekend and hold a 24-hour demonstration on the floor. I admit to being a tad disappointed when they went home last Friday. I was at the gym and I only saw minimal coverage in the news, too.

I am quite pleased that they went back today and are working their hardest best to (1) get the House to reconvene and (2) to score as many political points against Nancy Pelosi. “War dance of the hand maidens of the oil companies” has nothing against Steve King’s statement: “This is her dilemma: ‘I am trying to save the planet, I am trying to save the planet!’She wants the planet restored to some imagined state of being. She says she wants to save the planet but doesn’t show concern for the homo sapiens that live on it! She doesn’t want our standard of living to go up, she doesn’t want more energy. We might as well backtrack and start at the Garden of Eden.”.

This is absolutely marvelous political theater. I am not sure what the impact of this may be in the long run. While I wouldn’t want to give advice to the enemy, I doubt Pelosi’s tactic of disdainful ignorance will work here. She has manoeuvred herself into a position of weakness from which she might not recover. Good.
